All-New GSX-8S Naked Street Fighter to Usher in a New Era of Riding Pleasure

Product Release

“Infinite Potential. Limitless Fun”. Welcome to the sensational all-new naked street fighter from Suzuki – the GSX-8S.

The GSX-8S was launched at the 2022 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan today alongside the V-STROM 800DE adventure bike, with the bold and exhilarating models ushering in a new era of ground-up mid-capacity engineering from Suzuki.

The GSX-8S, which will take its place in the already popular Suzuki GSX-S family of street fighters, combines stunning naked sports bike looks with brilliant performance, confidence-inspiring handling and optimised comfort – for maximum enjoyment from commuting through to a sporty run through a favourite set of winding roads.

The brand new 776cc parallel-twin powering the GSX-8S (and the V-STROM 800DE) is a quantum leap forward for Suzuki. The engine has a 270-degree crankshaft and introduces the patented Suzuki Cross Balancer which contributes to even smoother operation and a lightweight design.

Maximum output is 61kW (82hp) at 8500rpm, with 78Nm of torque at a low 6800rpm – a level of flexibility and accessible mid-range power that makes for an extremely involving ride.

Electronic throttle bodies help achieve a linear throttle response and superb mechanical grip, while other key pillars of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) include multiple ride modes, three-stage traction control (plus off), ABS, a Bi-directional quickshifter and Suzuki’s Easy Start System.

The two-into-one exhaust system has a dual-stage catalytic converter inside the collector which helps satisfy Euro 5 emissions standards, and the striking design features a short new muffler – the shortest ever mounted on a Suzuki motorcycle – that barely rises up and out from the right side of the engine.

Just like the parallel-twin engine, the steel frame in the GSX-8S is a completely new design, contributing to comfort, stability and nimble handling. The machine also has a unique aluminium swingarm, KYB suspension, Nissin radial-mount monobloc brakes and cast-aluminium wheels with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 rubber.

The 14-litre fuel tank features a stunning slim design unique to the GSX-8S, and the electronic equipment includes a five-inch TFT multi-function dash, all-LED lighting – including vertically stacked headlights – and distinctively styled LED daytime running lights.

There are three liveries: Pearl Cosmic Blue and Pearl Tech White, both created exclusively for the GSX-8S, and Metallic Matt Black No.2/Glass Sparkle Black.

The MSRP is $12,699 ($14,190 Ride Away*) and the model is estimated to go on sale locally in August 2023. Owners can customise their GSX-8S by selecting options from the wide range of Suzuki Genuine accessories available for this model via the Build Your Bike online tool on Suzuki Motorcycles Australia. Items include soft case luggage, billet brake and clutch levers, bar ends, engine and bodywork protection, heated grips, single seat cowl and a meter visor.

As a gesture of Suzuki’s appreciation for customer commitment, online pre-order customers will receive a bonus “METER VISOR” and “SINGLE SEAT COWL” with their bike delivery.
